WiMAX is crap. That’s my summation of the sentiment expressed by Paul Jacobs, CEO of Qualcomm (QCOM). During Stephanie Mehta’s panel, “Who Moves the Bits?” he predicted that the long-distance wireless standard is headed nowhere fast. “If you look at the WiMAX experiment in Korea, you’ll see that only a few thousand people are using it — and those are probably the friends and family of the people who rolled it out. It’s not a good technology.”
